Sacred Pagoda is Vietnamese restaurant that concentrates more on traditional culture and ideology from the Vietnam. The origin of the name Sacred Pagoda comes from Vietnamese Buddhist temples and lanterns in Asian culture specifically Vietnam. The name represents the place to go for sanctuary or a place to relax and cherish what you eat and whom you eat with. Vietnamese food is known to have so many unique traits such as fresh ingredients, balance of hot and cold foods, and the idea of using the five different senses within the creation of each recipe. I wanted to be able to include this research into my design as well. How I achieved that was the revolving the idea around the pagoda since it symbolizes with sanctuary. The customers whom dine at the restaurant would learn about customary values of Vietnamese culture. I branched out this brand into the logo, signage, interior atmosphere, stationery and food related materials such as a food box and chopstick holder. I wanted to stray away from bright reds and yellows so it wouldn’t be confused with Chinese colors by adding dark red and emphasized the golden color on the bell to represent the sacred portion and complementing it with colors of dark blue and lighter green to represent the natural and fresh nature of Vietnamese method of food creation. I also added in the national flower, the lotus flower. to use as a cultural decoration and pattern to some of the deliverables.
